Cameron Norrie will be hoping to win Wimbledon this year after reaching the semi-finals in 2022 before he was beaten by the eventual champion Novak Djokovic in four sets. The British tennis No. 1 takes to the tennis court on Tuesday, July 4, for his first match of the grand slam against Czech player Tomas Machac.
The 27-year-old was born in Johannesburg, South Africa to a Scottish father and a Welsh mother. When Cameron was three, his family moved to Auckland, New Zealand, where his parents still live.
He represented New Zealand as a junior but moved to London at the age of 16, which is still listed as his residence, and now represents Great Britain. Speaking of his early years, Norrie told The Sun: "When I was three or four I moved to New Zealand and went to school there.

"I played all sports in New Zealand. Cricket, rugby, tennis as well as cross country for the school. I was playing pretty much every sport until 14 or 15 which was when I honed in on tennis."
He added: "Both my parents were very good squash players. My dad was No1 in Scotland for the Universities and my mum was a great player too so they had squash rackets all throughout the house and the garage."
Cameron has so far won four ATP Tour singles titles and he has also won a doubles title. He has been ranked the number one British male tennis player since 2021.
Girlfriend
Norrie has been dating his girlfriend Louise Jacobi since 2019. The 25-year-old American-based textile designer and businesswoman founded her own textile company, Please Don’t Touch, in New York and holds the position of Creative Director.
She is also the co-founder of luxury design firm Studio Virgo, which is located in Santa Barbara, California. On LinkedIn, the business is described as a luxury design firm focused on creating products to bring awareness of the power of the things we live in and with.
Jacobi completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Michigan and went on to study Textile and Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins in London.
Cameron's net worth
As of March 2023, Norrie had won more than $8.8 million (£6.9 million) in career prize money, reports Tennis Majors. Away from Tennis, Norrie has enjoyed endorsements from top brands, including Babolat, who provides racquets, and his shoes and apparel sponsor is K-Swiss. He is also endorsed by luxury watch manufacturing giant Rado.
Rockstar pal
Norrie has formed a firm friendship with Jon Bon Jovi, thanks to partner Louise who is pals with the rocker's son. The singer reportedly invited him over to his Palm Beach, Florida mansion, where they went to a local tennis club for a game.
“He loves tennis and I hit with him for a little bit and then we went to his house for lunch," Norrie told the Daily Mail.
"He is really nice and so cool, a very humble guy. We went to a local club five minutes from where he lives and had the hit, he wasn’t recognised and it was very chilled.
"With some of the people who you come into contact with through your career, you get kind of excited, but he’s very down to earth. He came to watch me in practice. I think in the last two years he just started liking tennis. He used to run a lot and now he uses playing as a workout."
